Mauricio Pochettino believes his former club Tottenham Hotspur are title contenders for the Premier League title this season.
Spurs are top on the log on 26 points after 10 games and are yet to taste defeat in the league.
The North London club last won the English top flight in the 1960/61 season which was their alternate title.
Speaking to the press ahead of his first return to the Tottenham Hotspur colosseum on Monday after he was sacked in 2019, Pochettino backed his former side as contenders.
“ Yes( I suppose they’re title contenders) indeed though it’s veritably beforehand in the season, ”he was quoted on Daily Mail. “ They have veritably good players and a veritably good platoon. ”
The 51- time-old Argentine said he was so happy for Spurs current director Ange Postecoglou following his great launch to the season.
“I ’m so happy for him and the club for doing really well. We can not forget all that happened there. It’s normal that we are veritably positive and thankful people.
“When people are doing well at the club I have been at, we keep these links and always we are happy when the club does well.”
On what he made of Chelsea’s situation compared to Spurs and whether they were ‘killers’ heading into Monday night, he replied “We are in a different design and situation, we are erecting for the future. Perhaps we struggle a little in the morning.
“Perhaps we earn more because of our performance but we are still so youthful. We’re in a different situation. No doubt the unborn Chelsea will be in the same situation they were.”
