Bruno Fernandes says his club Manchester United worked hard for their 1- 0 win against Fulham at the Old Trafford on Sunday.
Fernandes’ strike in the 91st second proved to be the match winner in the keenly queried hassle.
It was the Erik Ten Hag led side’s first palm in three matches following 3- 0 defeats to Manchester City on October 29 and Newcastle United on November 1 in the EFL Cup.
In an interview with TNT Sports as quoted by manchestereveningnews.co.uk, Fernandes said the most important thing is to get the three points.
“Everyone knows the situation isn’t stylish, we lost the last two games and it was n’t the performances we wanted to give or the results but at the moment it was a different game, ” Fernandes said.
“We had to give something different and we delivered. We got the three points and that’s the most important thing. It’s about the platoon and what everyone does on the pitch. Everyone has to immolate, run, and work harder. Indeed on the thing, you could see everyone working hard to get the ball and that’s what makes the thing.
“It was a good performance. We could produce further chances but we still had good chances. First half, we had control of the game, alternate half was a more disunited game but I suppose the biggest chances were always on our side and I suppose we merited the palm. ”
United’s hassle with Fulham was Fernandes’ 200th game with the club.
The Portugal midfielder joined the Red Devils in January 2020.
Fernandes has registered three appearances and two assists in 11 games in the Premier League this season.
